Havsvind run two boats between four islands, and until this year their timetable lived on a laminated sheet at the quay and in a PDF somebody updated twice a year. In summer they carry eleven thousand people. In February they carry a dozen a day and the crossing is decided by the weather.

The site had to do one job before anything else: answer the question a person is standing in the rain asking. So the timetable is the homepage, and it knows what month it is. Everything else - the history, the boats, the woman who has run the galley since 1998 - sits underneath it where it belongs.

I wrote the words too, which took nearly as long as the build. There is a version of this site that talks about journeys and horizons. This is not it.
